Dubai – The secretariat general of the UAEFA has reviewed the final preparations for hosting the matches of the President Cup quarterfinal which will be staged on Wednesday and Thursday January 24 and 25, 2017. The meeting was attended by the assistant secretary general for technical affairs Ebrahim Al Nimr and the head departments and divisions at the UAEFA.
Al Nirm said: “We feel quite satisfied with the organizational success of the pre-quarterfinals thanks to the hard work of the teams involved. The FA has raised the tempo of its preparations for the kick off of the second stage of the 41st edition of the prestigious competition after citing the neutral venues and putting the final touches including the pre-matches technical meetings set to be held at 4pm on Tuesday at the same venues.
“The teams are working under the directives and follow up of HE Marwan bin Ghalita, Chairman of the UAEFA and HE Mohammed bin Hazzam, secretary general of the association.
“We have highlighted all the missions and roles to be played to ensure the highest level of success for the most prestigious event.”
Elsewhere, Al Nimr urged the faithful fans of the eight clubs that have advanced to the quarterfinals to stad behind their respective teams noting that all means of comfort have been provided to ensure the utmost convenience and satisfaction.
Four matches will be played over two days. Al Wasl face Sharjah at the Maktoum bin Rashid Stadium in Dubai at 4.55pm on Wednesday and Al Wahda clash against Al Jazira at Zabeel later at 8pm of the same day. On Thursday, Hatta and Emirates clash at the Al Maktoum Stadium at 4.55pm and Al Ain take on Al Nasr at 8pm at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
