Dubai Saturday March 18, 2017:The medical sports committee of the UAEFA met with the doctors of the pro-league at the association’s offices here on Saturday. The meeting was chaired over by Reema Al Hosani, deputy chairman of the committee and attended by Hamad Al Jenaib, Sharjahi, director of the clubs licensing in the committee.
The meeting was also attended by the members of the sports medical committee Dr. Majdi Eskandar and Dr. Murad Al Gharairi and the senior teams’ doctors of the Kalba, Al Wahda, Al Nasr, Fujairah, Bani Yas. Al jazira, Hatta, Dhafra, Emarat, Al Shabab, Al Ahli and Sharjah.
Al Hosani summed up at the beginning of the meeting the AFGC medical training course in Kuala Lumpur from March 1 to 5, 2017 and the most recent findings of the sports medicine particularly the standards of rehabilitation of injured players and anti-doping.
Preparations of the new season have also been reviewed besides the mechanism of medical examinations prior to championships to ensures the readiness of the players. It has been agreed to add some necessary vaccinations to the form of medical examinations for the 2017/ 2018 season.
The meeting has further discussed the means of development of the medical staffs with the clubs (doctors and physiotherapists) by updating them with the most recent developments in the field.
Thereafter, an open discussion was staged with the clubs doctors and the required solutions for the challenges which they are facing in collaboration with the Arabian Gulf League Committee. The doctors made some proposals including the heart tests and introducing smart phones application to upgrade the level of knowledge for the players.
