Dubai/ Wednesday, June 21st, 2017: UAE FA National Team & Technical Affairs Committee held its periodic meeting under chairmanship of Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, UAE FA President.
The committee ran down the agenda prepared by the head coach of the UAE National (A) Team, Mr. Edgardo Bauza in preparation for the matches versus KSA and Iraq on 29 August and 5 September 2017 respectively with FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Qualifiers. The committee decided to delay the approval of the agenda pending further study and to select Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain city to host KSA Match. The committee approved the preparation programs for national teams (Olympic, U-19, U-16 and U-15.
The Olympic Team will have an internal gathering in Dubai from 27 June to 1st July 2017, followed by training camp in Riyadh from 2nd to 6th July with two friendly games against KSA on 3 and 5 July respectively. Then we have a training camp in Al Ain in the period 7 – 14 July with a friendly versus Tajikistan on 10 July.
The committee approved three internal training camps for U-19 National Team during July, followed by external training camp from 3 to 14 August with three friendly matches, before participating in friendly tournament from 15 to 25 August. The team will conduct training camp in October in preparation for AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers.
In respect to U-16 National team, there will be three internal training camps during the month of July, followed by three friendly matches and a friendly tournament. The team will have an external training camp from 10 to 19 September 2017 in preparation for AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers.
The Committee approved the recruitment of the Serbian Coach LJUBINKO DRULOVIC for U-19 National Team and the Croatian coach FERDO MILIN for U-16 National Team.
