Match Day 1 of the International Quartet Friendly Tournament
Dubai /Wednesday, February 7th, 2018: The opening day of the friendly tournament has witnessed two great victories for Belgium and Czech over Japan and UAE, were the first game was ended in 3 – nil score in favor of Belgium, while UAE was harshly defeated nil – 5 by Czech Republic.
The games were witnessed by UAE FA President, HE Marwan bin Ghalita; HE Abdulla Nasser, Vice President and Chairman of PLC; Khalifa Al Ghafli, Board Member; Hisham Al Zarooni, Board Member; Ibrahim Al Nemer, Assistant General Secretary; Obaid Mubarak, Technical Director and Rashid Amer, Head of Training Centers.
UAE Head Coach Fedro Milen has played the game with starting list composed of Abdulla Juma, Abdulrahman Adel, Majid Ali, Hamad Mohamed, Khalifa Abdulrahman, Abdulaziz Al Blooshi, Hamdan Humaid, Hareb Abdulla, Khalifa Yousuf, Khalid Ali and Sultan Mohamed.
The match commenced with heavy attacks from Czech faced by compacted defense from UAE, Czech was able to open the scoring at minute 12 from cross pass by the player Potcha who was waiting for only ten minutes to score the second goal at minute 23.
UAE tried to rearrange its lines and come back on the score, but Czech made it so difficult by scoring other three goals and ending its glorious 5 – nil win. In the other match, Belgium dominated the scene over Japan and ended the confrontation with a 3 – nil victory.
The president attended the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) trial implemented by Referees Department on this friendly in compliance with the instruction of International Football Association Board (IFAB) on conducting 20 live rehearsals before applying the technology officially in UAE matches.
